MS Research charity is proud and grateful for these individual fundraising ventures, which often work so well when friends and families are involved. After swimming one kilometer in 1983 for an MS charity, one trustee is still fundraising! Some of these events will be achieved because someone close has MS! The training and blisters will be counted and recounted. They will be telling their story and return to their home, work or studies. Their pages will be receiving donations sometimes three months after…They are amazing people! ♥♪♫
- Phil Broadman has found a new ultra challenge: The Pennine way in 10 days! That is 268 miles…a wonderful challenge!
- Chloe Watters is climbing Kilimanjaro in November:
I am dedicating a great deal of time to train for this event. I have joined 3 hill walking clubs and pretty much every weekend of 2010 is being spent struggling up as many Corbetts and Munros as possible…Having witnessed first hand the difficulties people with MS face on a daily basis, I am determined to do everything I can to help. - Alan Bamber will cycle over five countries
On 14 th June 2010 I shall be setting out on a ‘5 Nations’ bike ride. Starting at Canterbury my plan is to cycle to Dover, take the ferry to France, and then do a circuit taking in parts of France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany – about 600 miles in all. I’m doing this solo, with no back-up of any kind, and I’m meeting all costs personally, such as accommodation and food.
…but I am 72 years old and took up cycling as a leisure activity less than two years ago. - Thomas Miller will cycle to Paris in August!
On the 18 th August I will be embarking on a 5 day, 500km cycle from London to Paris in aid of Multiple Sclerosis Research Training and Education. Multiple Sclerosis is a disease that has affected my family first hand and one of the few diseases for which there is no known cure.
It is going to be hot! Be extra generous for the weather factor, please…☺
