MS RESEARCH LOBBIES GOVERNMENT
MS Research charity lobbies government for better treatments
Professor Derick Wade has recently published a report on an audit of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) related services.
His report finds significant failures in the treatment of pain, mobility and balance and other troublesome MS symptoms. He also highlights the need for better access to high quality neurological rehabilitation in the UK.
MS Research has embarked on a series of articles and calls for better treatment for people who have MS. While recognising the very important role of the many new drugs currently under trial for early MS, we want to see more and better treatment for the more difficult established symptoms of MS like spasticity and contractions, pain, fatigue and tremor.
We also highlight the lack of adequate rehabilitation services in the UK compared with up to 5 time better access to treatment services in other EU countries.
